Position Objective:
To maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and facility upkeep across community healthcare units, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and health-compliant environment for clients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
· Perform routine cleaning of client rooms, common areas, bathrooms, kitchens, and clinical spaces.
· Conduct scheduled deep cleans as per infection control standards.
· Ensure waste is managed and disposed of safely, including clinical and sharps waste where applicable.
· Identify and report and oversee maintenance issues (leaks, broken fittings, safety hazards).
· Maintain cleaning records and logs for audits and compliance.
· Coordinate property maintenance for urgent repairs or access needs.
· Prepare Units for new rentals, client and discharges.
· Ensure stock levels for cleaning supplies are monitored and replenished.
· Follow all workplace health and safety (WHS) and infection prevention protocols.
· Uphold confidentiality and respect for clients’ dignity and privacy.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Proven experience in professional cleaning or housekeeping (preferably in healthcare or aged care).
· Knowledge of infection control practices and WHS standards in health settings.
· Physical stamina to handle manual work and frequent movement.
· Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently across multiple housing programs.
· Excellent attention to detail.
· Clear communication skills and record-keeping.
· Basic computer or tablet use for checklists and task reporting.
· Understanding of cultural safety and respectful interactions with diverse community.
· Current driver’s license.
· National Police Check (required).
· Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening (due to working in those environments).

Desirable:
· Certificate III in Cleaning Operations, Health Support Services, or similar.
· First Aid and CPR certification.
· Experience working in regional or rural health services.
· Understanding of infection prevention in aged care or disability settings.
